Welcome to our website. 'The Groves' is a group of five streets in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester 13. This site was set up in 2007 to help us as residents of the Groves to monitor a sharp increase in the number of non-residents who were parking their cars outside our houses. This was caused by the introduction of a Pay-to-Park scheme for non-residents on Carmoor Road. This made the Groves the next nearest free parking for visitors, staff and contractors at the nearby Manchester Royal Infirmary, St Mary's and Eye Hospitals (see the area map page). Thanks to campaigning by local residents, documented on this website, and working with Councillors, Ward Officers and Highway Services, we got a Residents Parking scheme which began in June 2010.
