Another meeting

A
third meeting with Councillors, Ward Coordinator,
Traffic Section and resident's representatives from
the Groves and from Grove Village... We discussed
(again) Visitor Permits and have settled on a trial
scheme involving an annual permit for a fixed cost -
probably £20. It is important to emphasise that this
is a trial, which will be reviewed and if it doesn't
work it may have to be changed or abandoned. The sort
of thing that will make it work or not work is how we
as residents use it. If a few of us abuse it (I think
you know what I'm talking about) then that could lead
to all of us having it restricted, costing more or
even losing it completely.
Anyway... according to Simon Cook the legal consultation period for our scheme - notices in the Evening News and on lamp-posts - will be starting very soon. If there are no objections to the scheme, then it will start soon after. However, if there is even one objection registered, the process will be stopped while that is investigated. Either way, the scheme will now start BEFORE the Visitor Permits are added. This is because no-one came back to us objecting to it happening in this way, i.e. two stages.
